U.S. visa support for Canadians
ready for what’s next.
Hypothetical example: a household west of the city runs a beef and forage operation, and one partner has been offered crop-advisory work with a United States seed company. The offer letter feels like the important paper, but it is not the one that decides eligibility. Each U.S. route hangs on a specific record that carries a specific legal condition, and everything else in the file is supporting material. Before assembling anything, name the condition, name the record that proves it, and confirm that record exists in a form a decision-maker can accept. Work that starts from the pile rather than from the condition usually produces a thick file that still fails on one point.
The deciding record is different in every category. TN turns on Canadian or Mexican citizenship together with the qualification that the listed profession itself demands. L-1A and L-1B turn on proof of one continuous year of qualifying employment abroad within the three years before the petition, and on the corporate relationship between the two active entities. E-2 turns on evidence that treaty-national funds are irrevocably committed and genuinely at risk in a real, operating, non-marginal enterprise. EB-5 turns on lawful source-of-funds tracing and a credible plan for at least ten full-time jobs. The Gold Card follows its own official framework rather than any of these.
Choose what brings you here. Leave with a short list of things to discuss—not another long form to fill out.
A listed profession sets its own qualification rule, and a job title does not change it.

Build the file as a short table before it becomes a folder. In the first column write the legal condition in the words the statute, regulation or official program page uses. In the second write the one record that establishes it. In the third write who issues that record and how long issuance realistically takes. Anything that does not map to a condition is context rather than evidence and belongs at the back. The exercise usually exposes the real problem quickly: a rural employer may hold payroll that proves employment but nothing that proves the duties were managerial, and a farm partnership may show equity without any document showing who actually controls it.

A practical plan.
No promises we can’t keep.
Write out the legal requirement using the language of the statute, regulation or official program page, not a paraphrase from a summary article. Vague wording hides which fact is actually in dispute.
For each condition identify the single document that carries it: a citizenship record, a registrar transcript, a share register, a signed agreement or a bank tracing chain. Everything else is corroboration.
Confirm who issues the record, what it will actually say, how long it takes and whether it will still be current when the proposal moves. Rural issuers and small registries are often slow.
Find the condition with the thinnest evidence and decide whether it can be strengthened, whether a different route fits better, or whether the plan should not proceed on these facts.
A record that decides a requirement is rarely the one that is easiest to obtain. A provincial licence, a registrar's letter, an audited financial statement or a signed purchase agreement often takes weeks and cannot be reconstructed from correspondence afterwards. Request those first and let narrative material follow. Where the controlling record genuinely does not exist, say so plainly and identify what secondary evidence a decision-maker may weigh instead, rather than presenting a substitute as though it were the original. A described gap is more workable than a gap papered over by a letter that asserts more than its author can honestly know.
Find your pathwayA remote consultation for an Oliver Paipoonge household works best when the controlling documents have been identified before the call. Bring the proposed U.S. activity in one paragraph, the entity or employer names, and a list of what you already hold with issue dates. Shneur Herman, Jo Kubti and Alexander Paton read the proposal against the conditions that actually apply to it and identify which record still has to be obtained and from whom. Where a requirement cannot be met on the current facts, that is reported as a finding rather than smoothed over. Consultations are remote, and no assessment predicts how a particular officer will weigh a particular file.

No. The offer describes the work, but eligibility is decided by citizenship, whether the position falls within a listed USMCA profession, and whether the applicant holds that profession's own qualification.
No. A balance shows funds exist. E-2 requires funds irrevocably committed and at risk in a real operating enterprise, evidenced by executed agreements and transfers out of the investor's control.
No. TN is limited to Canadian and Mexican citizens. A permanent resident card establishes status in Canada, not the citizenship the category requires.
No. The saved coverage row is the Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge. Conmee, O'Connor and Gillies are separate single-tier municipalities and are not included here.
